About Us

The name of our company this year is “Breckenridge Robotics WASTE".  Our slogan "Working At Saving The Earth" is a reflection of this year's competition theme, Current Events.

-

K.A.C.H.O.W. (Knowing All Current Hazards of Water) is an excellent example of efficiency and safety. Our robot is proficient in the areas of precision and efficiency due to our newly developed worm gear. Additionally, our carefully designed and implemented trash scoop ensures that any trash we are called to will be eliminated quickly and that sea life will be carefully saved.

-

Breckenridge Robotics has been active for ten years, including the 2018 season.  Out of the ten past years, we have advanced to the regional competition nine times.

-

When Breckenridge Robotics had initially started the Bison BEST robotics competition, they advanced on to the national competition in Arkansas where they earned awards there as well.

-

We have won many achievements throughout our time as an organization including numerous awards in the BEST and robot competition as well as last year's 2nd place robot competition award for Crossfire.

-

Our company is made up of twelve members: eight boys and four girls.  There are three sophomores and nine seniors this year.  We are fortunate to have four adult volunteer mentors to help guide us in building a great robot and company.

About the Game

B.E.S.T stands for Boosting Engineering Science and Technology. It is a program designed to interest students in science, technology, engineering, and math.

The objective this year with the Current Events theme is to utilize robotics to tackle a pressing issue – pollution!

A more in-depth look at this year's competition involves designing and building a robot to perform the following water safety operations:

  • Rescuing the turtles and sea life

  • Taking trash out of our oceans

  • Recycling the available trash to create coral reefs
